Japanese Tier I supplier Denso Corp. and Germany's Robert Bosch GmbH announced today they have decided to discontinue their joint venture activities for diesel particulate filters and disband the joint firm Advanced Diesel Particulate Filters Sp by the end of this year.
The two companies said they have agreed that further common activities don't make business sense at the present time, given the currently difficult environment in the global automotive industry. Employees involved in the venture will return to their respective companies.
The venture was announced by the two firms in July of 2007 with plans to establish a manufacturing plant at Wroclaw, Poland. Work was to be focused on developing and manufacturing cordierite ceramic diesel particulate filters.
